McKenzie & Clayton's Big Day at Shady Cove, OR: My First Wedding as a Second Photographer

My very first wedding as a second shooter, and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  McKenzie and Clayton's big day was held at the beautiful town of Shady Cove, Oregon.  Pulling into the venue, I was a mix of excited and panicked (imposter syndrome), but being greeted by the talented lead photographer, Rhonda J. Cloud, like I'm an old friend instantly made me feel like at ease.

Shady Cove is stunning.  Tree everywhere, the Rogue River nearby, and misty rain started falling just before the ceremony.  And honestly, it didn't ruin a thing.  If anything, the rain only added a dreamy vibe to the photoshoot.

McKenzie was absolutely glowing in her dress, and Clayton had that calm groom energy going on.  But even more than that, they were so sweet with each other.  It was beautiful to watch.

Rhonda took the lead on all the big moments, and I floated around catching the little stuff.  Watching her in action was like a masterclass in staying cool under pressure.  Timeline shifts? No problem.  People wandering off? Handled.  Rain? Just part of the story.  I learned so much just by observing.

By the end of the night, my memory cards were full and my batteries were drained, and I was absolutely hooked.  McKenzie and Clayton's day wasn't just beautiful, it felt like the perfect start to this journey.
